Sometimes, you just need a little extravaganza in your wardrobe. Maybe go for eye-catching prints, super bold colours, or – as in my case – exceptional cuts. This dress from COS is certainly not everybody’s taste, but, in my book, the combination of a simply straight cut dress and lots of ruffles on shoulders and sleeves is just perfect if you feel like wearing something a little more fancy and unusual. The color is another plus, the quiet dark navy hue is the perfect counterpart for the extravagant shape of the dress.
I’ve styled the dress in two different ways. The first option is more of a classic combination, for example when you go out for dinner or drinks. I went for burgundy fish scale slippers from Chatelles. The colour is no longer available, but there’s a navy blue, royal blue and green version online. I’ve already worn a different pair of Chatelles in this outfit, and I highly recommend them. Super quality and wide range of styles! Of course, heels would also be an option to turn it up a notch for a fancy-schmancy night out, but I personally never ever wear heels, so no illustration of that option. I’m just too lazy, my main means of transportation are my feet or bike so I always opt for comfy-cosy when it comes to my footgear 🙂
The small clutch is from Furla, and since all good things come in threes, this baby is accompanied by two smaller pouches in different colours. I always carry the smallest one around in my purse, filled with necessities such as lip balm, hair ties, gum and lipstick. The middle size is perfect to carry your make-up while traveling. Some colours are currently on sale! Drool-worthy version from Céline here, or here.
To wear the dress to a more laid-back party or event, or for everyday wear (for the fashionably brave among yourselves), I’ve paired it with Converse chucks (currently on sale at Sarenza) and my Rockie Bag. I like the contrast in this look and actually nearly prefer it to the more classy version.
Also, don’t forget to freak out occasionally 😉
