Summer finally seems to be back!! Yay! Since the sun makes its appearance on a daily basis now and temperatures are rising, I’m thinking about adding some sun-appropriate pieces to my wardrobe.
I’ve been looking for the perfect straw hat for a long time, unfortunately success is still absent to this point. The model from Philip Treacy comes really close to my imaginary dream piece, the only thing stopping me from clicking the „Add to basket“-button is the price tag – more than 1000 Euros is really an exorbitant sum to fork out for a straw hat, no matter how fashionable it might look. For those of you not afraid spending the big bucks, shop it here!
Much more budget-friendly is the striped top with lacing from Topshop. Perfect for warm evenings, best spent at the beach while enjoying the ocean breeze and a cocktail (sitting-waiting-wishing me talking here). And what could compliment the top more than a button-up denim skirt? Exactly, nothing else, which is why I ordered just those two pieces via Zalando (when having a 20 Euro voucher, you can’t let it expire, can you?)
The most important thing to me when in glistening sunlight is wearing sunglasses. I can’t properly see as soon as the light is a little brighter, since my eyes are very sensitive and start burning and reddening almost immediately when exposed to the sun. The shades from Komono are just the perfect tool to protect my eyes, and look really cool at the same time. This particular model is called „Stella“ from Komono’s „Crafted“ collection, made from Italian acetate with a lightweight metal core.
A bag that’s been on my wishlist for ages now is the „Metropolis“ by Furla, preferably in this bold mustard yellow („Saffron“). Due to being super small, it’s definitely not an everyday bag, since you can’t fit too much in it, but it sure is big enough for all necessities and perfect for an afternoon stroll on Sundays, having dinner or going out. I love cross body bags, because they allow me to keep my hands free and are not „in my way“, if you know what i mean 😉
The Balenciaga Mini Papier Tote is another beauty I would’t say no to. Made of grain calfskin leather in a powdery pink hue, this crossbody is a true classic and goes with almost anything. Like the striped top and denim skirt, for example. Sigh. Of course, the bag has it’s price, but I think if you invest in certain pieces, bags are always the smartest choice. They upgrade even the most simple outfits and will last you a long time when quality pieces.
I own a nice little collection of slides, but my shoe closet definitely lacks of some pretty pairs of sandals. The model with the tassels is from Asos, the lace-up snakeskin version from River Island, also via Asos. Both very dapper specimens that won’t strain your bank account too much. Win win!!
Essie’s current collection consists of some truly beach-worthy colors, like „Chillato“ that reminds me of pistachio ice cream and lemonade, or „Peach Side Babe„, in whose case the name says it all. So whip out the brushes ladies, let’s paint the summer on our nails!
What are your cravings this summer? Besides ice cream, of course, I guess that one we all have in common… 🙂
C u Lovies!! xx Verena
